“You do not enter the wine business to get rich; the people you meet and the connection with the land make you wealthy. We can’t imagine a more rewarding and fun job. We are blessed because we have met so many wonderful people, and made lasting friendships. Thank you, God, for bringing us this opportunity.

legato means
“gathering together”

. . . Legato, in Italian, means a gathering together of family or friends. We hope you will find Texas Legato a great place to meet up and join our family of friends. Legato is also a musical term for smooth and connected notes or performance. Our desire is to create smooth wines. Please come and enjoy our award winning wines from Texas grown grapes.
The support Texas Legato has received from our family and friends have helped make it a success. We appreciate each and every one of you who has been with us on this journey!

Texas Legato Winery has been serving award-winning wines since 2007. The winery sits 3.5 miles southwest of the Lampasas Golf Course off of Naruna Road (FM 1478) on 6 acres of vineyard. The vineyard, consisting of Malbec, Merlot, Petite Sirah and Petite Verdot was planted in 2002. The vineyard will encompass a total of 12 acres when fully developed.

Texas Legato is owned by the Sulynn and Bill Bledsoe family. We handle the entire process from growing the grapes, processing the grape, fermenting, pressing, aging, bottling and selling the wines. The winery is noted for it’s Malbec, Family Reunion, Sweet Peggy Sue and GCP Mirtillo wines. Our Family Reunion is a blend of every red grape that came into the winery each vintage year. Sulynn has the Sweet Peggy Sue as her name sake. The Mirtillo is a blueberry wine made from East Texas blueberries from Echo Springs Blueberry Farm in Brownsboro. Premiering January 2015, is Fight Night, which is a blackberry/blueberry blend, with a nod to Mirtillo. We alternately carry one or the other at present.

Each year the winery has grown in size. The latest addition is a covered patio along the east and south side of the building with a full outdoor kitchen. The wooden rocking chairs, gliders and tables make an excellent location to sit and enjoy the Texas Hill Country while overlooking an ever changing vineyard.

Texas Legato Winery hopes that you will feel like family after visiting us. As it says in our winery brochure, we did not get in the business to get rich, but are rich in the friends we have made while in this business!
We hold wine pick-up parties, special holiday events, and during football season, you can listen to the local Lampasas Badgers football games, or watch college or pro football on our widescreen TVs.
